I am pretty excited about this research project because it gives us a chance to research something that truly impacts us. I am choosing to do my project on the great history of Ohio State Football. I have a few ideas on some of my sources to use in the project. I would like to write a pregame prayer from the point of head coach Jim Tressel because he himself is a Christian man and tries to instill his players with good values. Another cool idea would be a newspaper article about a major game between Ohio State and their hated rival Michigan.

I love the idea of the prayer! Have you also thought about doing a game plan (I don’t know what they are actually called, but I mean create a picture with how and where the players are supposed to go on certain plays). You could put it in like it is one that the coach actually came up with. I don’t know a hole lot about football, but I might suggest focusing more on the coach than the whole history of the team. This will help you to be more specific in your information, and you obviously already have quite a bit of admiration for this man.
Good luck!!!

Although I am far from an Ohio State fan I really enjoyed your project. I think you did a great job of tying it all together and loved the part about the gold pants. I thought it was really interesting to see how much more there is behind the coach than what happens on the football field. I bought Jason that book but think I may end up being more excited to read it than he is.

I thought you did a great job researching and presenting your project in a very informational way. It was also very creative. I love how you spray painted the pants gold to symbolize their win. I also thought the playbook idea was great.

I really enjoyed your presentation the other night. I am a huge football fan, and even though I’ve never really liked OSU, hearing your enthusiasm for the coach and the team was awesome. It is certainly nice to have an admirable coach at the head of such a powerhouse team.

Drew, you had a great presentation. Coach Tressel sounds like an admirable man. It’s great that he is interested in his players on and off the field. The players are fortunate to have a Christian coach who instills values.

Drew, you can’t ever say your NOT creative!!! I loved the way that you displayed your multigenre project. It makes me jealous!
Unfortunately, I am not a sports person, but your project made complete sense to me, because you did a great job at explaining things enough for us to understand what you were talking about. Also, that video clip that you showed us was powerful.

Drew, I just had to tell you Dr. Frye was right. She said we would remember everyone and their project. The day after class I had the television on and I was flipping channels and The 700 Club was on and they said Jim Tressel’s name. After the commercial break they were going to talk with him so I left it on that channel. They said the fans were waiting to see if they would play in the BCS Bowl Game. They said Coach Tressel was one of the most respected coaches in sports and they mentioned “The Winners Manual for the Game of Life.” They also said his father coached football and his philosophy came from his father. I believe it was when he was younger they were talking about how he heard Bobby Richardson and he asked, “If the game of life ended tonight would you be a winner?” They were talking about how he asked Jesus into his life and he let God lead him and that his purpose is to be a purpose in God’s Kingdom and to serve Him and others. What a wonderful testimony! I definitely thought of you when I heard the name.
